Pumpkin Seed Fall Sensory Bin (+ How to Dye Pumpkin Seeds)
A pumpkin sensory bin filled with dyed pumpkin seeds and matching fall trees. Great for toddlers and preschoolers to practice fine motor skills and color sorting.

Ingredients
- Pumpkin seeds
- Acrylic or washable craft paint (red, orange, yellow)
- Hand sanitizer
- Resealable plastic bags
- Large sensory bin
- 3 toilet paper rolls
- Scissors
- Markers
- Tweezers or tongs
- Wax paper or baking tray
Instructions
- Split pumpkin seeds into three bags. Add paint and hand sanitizer to each, seal, and shake to coat. Spread on wax paper to dry.
- Cut slits in one end of each toilet paper roll and fold out to form branches. Draw a colored dot on each tree.
- Fill the bin with dried seeds. Place trees inside and add tweezers.
- Encourage children to sort seeds by color into the matching trees.
- Mix seeds and repeat, or let kids scoop and pour freely.
Notes
Supervise closely with small seeds. Store seeds in an airtight container for future play.
