Halloween Spider Sensory Bin for Toddlers

This spider sensory bin uses colorful dyed rice, toy spiders, bugs, and black pasta bats for hands-on Halloween sensory play perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.

Easy DIY Halloween Spider Sensory Bin

Ingredients

  • White rice dyed orange
  • White rice dyed purple
  • Bow tie pasta painted or dyed black
  • Toy spiders
  • Toy bugs
  • Small scoop or shovel
  • Shallow bin or tray

Instructions

  • Prepare orange and purple dyed rice in advance and let it dry completely. Do this by adding rice to a ziplock bag, with a little food coloring, and a squirt or two of hand sanitizer.
  • Paint bow tie pasta black and allow to dry.
  • Fill bin halfway with dyed rice.
  • Scatter black pasta bats throughout.
  • Add toy spiders and bugs, burying some under the rice.
  • Place scoop in bin for digging and scooping.

Notes

Supervise young toddlers closely to prevent mouthfuls of rice or small toys. Store rice and toys in an airtight container for reuse.
