This spider sensory bin uses colorful dyed rice, toy spiders, bugs, and black pasta bats for hands-on Halloween sensory play perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.
Prepare orange and purple dyed rice in advance and let it dry completely. Do this by adding rice to a ziplock bag, with a little food coloring, and a squirt or two of hand sanitizer.
Paint bow tie pasta black and allow to dry.
Fill bin halfway with dyed rice.
Scatter black pasta bats throughout.
Add toy spiders and bugs, burying some under the rice.
Place scoop in bin for digging and scooping.
Notes
Supervise young toddlers closely to prevent mouthfuls of rice or small toys. Store rice and toys in an airtight container for reuse.
